As a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Yoga Instructor, I’ve always had a passion for fitness and nutrition.
One of my favorite topics to discuss with anyone at any time is food. How it nourishes and heals the body, brings us together with family and friends, and simply the fun of playing in the kitchen. This led to earning my bachelor’s degree in science and nutrition from Georgia State University, and the completion of a didactic internship with University Hospital in Augusta, GA. As a Registered Dietitan/Nutritionist for nearly 18 years, I’ve had the opportunity to provide medical nutrition therapy in the management of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, weight loss, weight gain, GI disorders (Chron’s, IBS, Gluten sensitivity), and vegetarian/vegan nutrition.
Along with clinically based research for nutrition education, I also strive to teach about our connection to the foods we eat and the healthy relationship that is formed when making choices with self-awareness.
