Social Media Internship

Joie de Vivre Counseling and Therapy is looking to hire a summer intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the social and graphic media landscape.

About the Internship

The purpose of the internship is to foster continued educational and professional development. Interns will gain experience in social media marketing and graphic promotion strategy and will have the opportunity to highlight their impact on business performance. Overall interns will support our marketing goals of building greater brand awareness among key audiences. Ideally, we seek someone who is obsessed with social media and is creative and thoughtful when interacting with online communities and building relationships. We are looking for a smart, curious, very proactive, nimble and adaptable person with the ability to multi-task and see a project from start to finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and edits graphic content for online social media accounts using Adobe products.

  • Develop successful social media strategies that build on our audience base.

  • Writes and distributes relevant content to social media.

  • Monitors and engages our audiences via our social media platforms.

  • Tracks social media engagement statistics.

  • Assists with ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities.

  • Implements new features to develop brand awareness, including promotions and competitions.

Requirements

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Experience with PC/Internet technologies, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, and Social Media Platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • 1+ years of social media marketing.

  • 2+ years of college experience.

  • Learn how to conduct competitive audits of brand competitors.

  • Learn how to conduct social strategy audits and highlight areas needing improvement in social media marketing.

  • Create new social media pages.

  • Learn how to clean-up SEO content on website and social media platforms.

  • Engage in communication with our social media base.

  • Develop and write original content for status updates on social media.

  • Post and monitor stories for social media platforms.

  • Select from photos to match brand design and content.

  • Learn how to write, format and post articles with SEO-rich headlines and content.

  • Learn how to utilize research on major holidays and events, brand happenings, hashtag and social media holidays, and upcoming pop culture as an avenue to improve social content and design.

  • Learn how to utilize Hootsuite and MailChimp, applications that support the process of design, marketing, and overall social media planning and organization.

  • Learn and apply real-time evaluation and assessment of social media channels.

  • Learn to assess and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of our current social media channels.

  • Execute on tactics to increase engagement, increase fans/followers from target audiences and produce compelling content.

  • Learn and apply the importance of metrics and analysis for informing decisions and provide a Social Media metrics report with monthly analysis.

Work Schedule and Time Commitment

The internship will from May 23, 2019 through August 22nd, 2019. Interns are required to work a minimum 10 hours per week. Some job duties may be done from home, but candidates are required to be available on Thursdays from 12PM-5PM.

Compensation

The internship is unpaid and must tie the experience to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit.

Administrative Psychology Internship

About the Internship

Joie de Vivre is offering an administrative psychology internship for Fall 2019. In this position interns will learn and be educated in the administrative basics for running a practice. The intern will gain a better understanding of the role that an administrator can play in company organization, and be better prepared to run their own practice or work in any sector of a counseling practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a full-time or part-time student enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with eligibility for college credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and execution of company events.

  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients.

  • Research and community health resources.

  • Schedule new clients.

  • Maintain and organize office files.

  • Participate in networking with community connections.

  • Confirm client eligibility and benefits with insurance.

  • Participates in supervision meetings.

  • Create educational worksheets and handout for clients.

  • Assist in the development of outreach workshops or charity events and promotion for the Atlanta community.

  • Write blog articles on topics related to women's health.

  • Research local news related events.

  • Assist with the development and circulation of company referral list.

  • Research psychology articles and news related events relevant to the company mission.

Requirements

  • Educational concentrations in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

  • A team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly organized, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Patient, empathetic, and show good judgment in pressured situations.

Work Schedule and Time Commitment

The internship will run from September 5, 2019 through December 5, 2019. Interns are required to work a minimum 10 hours per week. Additional hours are offered based on educational requirements. Some job duties may be done from home, but candidates are required to be available on Thursdays from 10AM-5PM.

Graphic Design Internship

Joie de Vivre Counseling and Therapy is looking to hire a summer intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the graphic design landscape.

Internship

The purpose of the internship is to foster continued educational and professional development. Interns will have the opportunity to create engaging and on-brand graphics that capture the attention of those who see them for a variety of marketing materials, brand concepts, and social media platforms. Ideally, we seek someone with a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree in graphic design, visual arts, marketing, or related field.

  • Must be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.

  • Responsible for content creation such as blogging and creating graphic images.

  • Design marketing and business development collateral, including presentations, brochures, invitations, announcements, newsletters, advertisements, promotional items, displays/signage, logos, etc that are in line with the organization’s brand and visual identity.

  • Utilize Adobe Design software applications to conceptualize and create graphics and illustrations for use in technical publications, oral presentations, and other visual communications media.

General Learning Objectives

  • Apply the principles of color, composition, hierarchy, typography as they relate in the various media that exist in design.

  • Demonstrate the ability to create and develop original concepts, integrate feedback and carry projects through to the production process.

  • Learn to apply principles of visual communication as they relate to reaching current and potential audiences, the role of design in marketing, and the ability to work collaboratively.

  • Demonstrate understanding of the design process, design thinking and professional standards and practices, including real-project learning scenarios.

  • Produce design assignments using InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and supporting applications.

  • Identify and improve graphic design weaknesses.

  • Identify type fonts and use typographic terminology to assist in the production of professional typographic designs.

  • Produce concept illustrations by hand and computer illustration for final output.

  • Produce page layouts, flyers, cover designs, brochures, letterheads, and posters.
